About

I am a freelance language professional with over 12 years experience as a German to English translator/proofreader and translation project manager.

Graduating with a BA (Hons) in German & European Culture from the University of Staffordshire in 2001, I began my career as an in-house translator working for a media monitoring company, translating financial and business news.

My passion for languages led to my first role in translation project management, where I gained extensive experience in the translation/localisation industry, and my knowledge of technical terminology was formed.

For 10 years, I was responsible for managing a wide variety of multilingual technical translation projects for the automotive, engineering, medical and telecommunications sectors. It was also during this time I obtained a postgraduate qualification in translation, as well as an MA in Japanese Cultural Studies.

My freelance translation work covers a variety of subjects, primarily with a technical focus, and a personal interest in tourism/culture and marketing. I have translated and edited numerous technical documentation, including operator manuals, user guides, data sheets, product brochures, reports, websites, promotional material and press releases.
